School Age Kids Programs

FIELD HOCKEY LEAGUE, GRADES K – 8

Girls Youth Field Hockey League Divisions include Kiddie entering grades K–2, PeeWee entering grades 3–4, Junior entering grades 5-6 and Senior entering grades 7-8.   No experience necessary.  Equipment needed: mouth guard, shin guards, eye wear (senior division) and hockey sticks. Kiddie and PeeWee girls’ sticks may be provided if necessary. Kiddie Division will be mainly skill development with a short schedule of games. Practices start around mid-August at area fields and games begin in September.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: June 30, 2017.  (Registrations received on or after July 1, 2017 are not guaranteed a playing position and will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis only if spaces are available.)

CHALLENGER  SOCCER ACADEMY, AGES 3 – 12 

Queen Anne’s County is proud to announce the return of the Player Development Program, partnering with Challenger Sports, British Soccer Academy.

Challenger’s Professional British Coaches are coming to teach players the fundamental skills in a fun environment.  Weekly sessions guarantee your players are sure to have fun while practicing game-related technical activities.  Cost:  $95

Further Information:

  • This program suitable for players aged 3-12 of all abilities.
  • Practices will be an hour long each week for a total of 8 weeks.
  • All practices will include technical development, fun games and scrimmages.
  • All coaches are fully qualified within the UEFA Licensing System.

BEGINNER TENNIS LESSONS, AGES 7 – 12

Learn sound fundamentals and skills of the basic strokes including the serve, forehand, backhand and volley. Students are introduced to singles and doubles play, scoring and rules. Lessons include five hours of certified professional instruction, drills and play. Cost: $90

TENNIS – SUMMER CLASSES, AGES 7 – 11

This tennis program will introduce players to basic skills such as net play, service and forehand and backhand strokes. Camp includes ball drills, footwork, conditioning, fun games, contests, prizes, and play. Instruction by Brent Herrick, certified professional. Please bring tennis racket, sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of drinking water.  Cost: $90

OPEN GYM FOR YOUTH WITH DISABILITIES,
ALL AGES

Kid with ballSports Activities for Youth with Disabilities is a unique recreational program designed so that children with any type of disability can participate in sports, particularly if their disability makes it difficult for them to join other mainstream programs. Activities will be tailored to meet the interest and ability level of each participant. The kids can learn basic skills and participate on an individual basis with a small group in basketball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, hockey, volleyball, bowling and kickball. A parent or guardian is required to attend and may help or participate as needed. Cost: $75
