A HAWK’S TAIL: FALCONRY DEMONSTRATION

A one of a kind, fun, hands on educational experience in Centreville’s Hidden Gem!

Have you ever dreamed about being able to get this close to a live bird of prey? Then this event is perfect for you! This spectacular activity leaves everyone in awe. Watch as our Falconer displays these stunning birds of prey to the delight and rapture of the group. Spectators will have a chance to learn all about the raptors role in our environment, interact with the bird, get your picture taken, and watch it fly while The Falconer answers all your questions about this incredible connection between hawk and hunter! These birds have been trained for thousands of years to work with hunters in the field. Now is your chance to get up close and personal with one of the Eastern Shore’s top predators!

The program is open to participants ages 6 and up.
Registration Spaces are limited! No onsite registration will be offered! Cost: $15

WHITE MARSH SPRING FISHING DERBY

Queen Anne’s County Dept. of Parks and Recreation is pleased to host the first Fishing Derby of 2019. Kids ages 5-16 will have an opportunity to put their love of fishing to test on a Saturday morning. Prizes will be given in each age bracket for largest fish, smallest fish, and most fish. Age Brackets will be 5–10 and 11–16. Pre-registration is not required but is strongly recommended. A limited number of rod/ reels and tackle box supplies will be provided. A limited number of shirts will be provided for the participants. Cost: $5

EASTER EGG HUNT

Grab your baskets…It’s egg hunting time! Children ages 2 – 13 are invited to celebrate the beginning of spring with Queen Anne’s County’s department of Parks and Recreation. Kids can participate in crafts, games, and Easter Egg Hunts for all ages. Please remember to bring your child’s Easter Egg baskets to collect the eggs, a raincoat if it’s sprinkling, and a camera to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Egg Hunts will be broken up in three age brackets.: Ages 2-4 (10:30), Ages 5–9 (11:00) and Ages 10–13 (11:30). No Rain date!

Cost: $3 pre-registration, $ 5 onsite fee
