Pre-registration required. Come join us for 6 weeks of fun and learning. You’ll learn positive techniques to motivate your puppy and activities to build your puppy’s confidence (yours too!). Every member of the family will learn to manage your puppy’s behavior with effective methods of motivation and you’ll also learn how to teach your puppy all the basics like sit, sown, stay, stand and maybe a cute trick or two. Clicker training and lure/reward training. Learn how to teach your dog the basics: sit, down, stay, stand, come, and how to walk on a loose leash. We will help you find positive solutions for behavior issues and teach you how to play fun games with your dog – and of course a few cute tricks.

Pre-requisite: Pawsitive Reinforcement Dog Training Class/Beginning or permission of Instructor. Clicker training and lure/reward training. Does your dog sit, down, stay, come when called, every time you ask?  No?  Would you like a little more reliability from your dog? Yes!  In this class we will work on refining the behaviors you learned in the beginning class.  Take your training (and your dog's reliability) to the next level! Cost $125.

 Class sizes will be small so we can give you and your dog the attention you deserve. In both the puppy and adult dog classes we will use clicker training and lure/reward training. Both these methods are science-based systems for teaching new behaviors with positive reinforcement. These methods are gentle and effective. Using these positive methods, dogs learn new behaviors quickly, easily and enthusiastically. Positive training methods enhance the relationship between you and your dog by helping you to develop your communication skills. Learning is fun for both you and your dog!

New Dog Agility Equipment in Both Big Dog Park and Little Dog Park !

Yes, there is a lovely spot where you may take your dog for a swim! A winding trail through the woods ends at the Dog Beach, on the sandy banks of Chesapeake Bay. 
Parking is permitted in the Matapeake Clubhouse lot; however, pets are not allowed at the clubhouse, its lawn, or the public beach. The pet trail begins at the fence that borders the rear of the clubhouse. Enjoy your visit and please bring along a plastic bag to clean up after your pet to ensure that this park stays open and available to dog lovers, while not posing a public health issue for the families using the public beach.

Just off the beaten path visitors will find a dog beach for swimming, a dog park for socializing, and plenty of dog trails for walking. Special "Yappy Hours" and a "Canine Coffee Club" help you and your dog make new friends.

Looking to socialize your dog? The Island Dog Park on Church Street is the county's first off leash dog park, offering an enclosed area for large dogs, and one for small dogs too! Benches provide relaxing spots for pets and owners to meet and greet. A dog fountain provides plenty of fresh water. Plans to enhance the park with dog agility equipment are underway. Throughout October, special "Yappy Hours" are held each Friday at 5 p.m. and on Saturdays at 9 a.m., enjoy hot coffee and fresh donuts with dog loving friends.

At Terrapin Park on Log Canoe Circle, visitors will find a 276-acre nature park featuring over 3 miles of dog-friendly, on-leash walking trails that wander through meadows, wetlands, woodlands and sandy beaches that front the Chesapeake Bay . Bring your camera to shoot captivating photos of your pet positioned before the bay's landmark bridge. The park connects to the Cross-Island Trail, where you can walk your leashed dog along a 6.5-mile paved path that traverses the entire island, ending at the Queen Anne's County Visitor's Center on the Kent Narrows.
